Veteran US comedienne Phyllis Diller has died in Los Angeles.
During the 1960s, Diller came to fame in the persona of a wild-haired, eccentrically dressed housewife who made self-deprecating jokes about her age and appearance, her terrible cooking and her husband, all while pretending to smoke from a long cigarette holder.
She had a distinctive braying laugh.
Her agent says she was the "first lady of stand-up". She was 95.
