One of the founders of Pirate Bay, a file-sharing website, has been arrested in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh.

An international warrant was issued against Svartholm Warg in April when he failed to arrive for the start of a prison sentence in Sweden.

He was convicted along with three others in 2009 of facilitating illegal copies of music and films and sentenced to a year in prison and payment of almost $US7 million in damages.

Pirate Bay was founded in 2003. Its operations were largely shut down in Sweden six years ago, but the website has continued to function.
