NSW bushfires now contained

9:23 am on 7 October 2012

Bushfires on the New South Wales Central Coast have been contained, but firefighters are continuing to monitor the area and residents are advised to be cautious.

AAP reports firefighters will continue to patrol the bushfire at Wyee, although it has been contained.

The Rural Fire Service says it's still not safe for people to enter fire-affected areas near Lake Macquarie.

The RFS says a blaze covering 120 hectares at Pretty Beach and Lobster Beach, near Gosford, is still burning but is under control.

Bouddi National Park is closed until further notice while crews assess trees damaged by fire.

At least 20 homes were evacuated on Friday as flames headed towards the properties.

AAP reports the RFS website lists more than 60 fires across NSW.
