Snow in NSW and ACT

Snow fell across New South Wales and the ACT on Friday as a cold snap hit the region.

Snow-covered areas included the Blue Mountains and the southern tablelands.

AAP reports there is also snow around Canberra, after temperatures fell to 8 degrees there on Thursday, the coldest since 1967.

Overnight snow also fell in the hills between Canberra and Bungendore and in areas around Goulburn and Crookwell to the north.

AAP reported 2.5cm of snow on the ground reported at Nerriga, in the southern tablelands.
