Asset sales not popular: poll

6:34 am on 20 October 2012

Almost 64% of respondents to a poll in Queensland oppose a decision by the state government to sell assets to repay state debt.

AAP reported almost 64% of respondents oppose the policy. Only 15.6% support it and 21% were undecided.

The previous Labor government's asset sales programme was also unpopular.

The survey of 1140 Queensland residents was conducted on 12 October. Details were reported on the Seven Network on Friday.
