Death of German composer

German composer Hans Werner Henze died in Dresden on Saturday.

Schott Music said Henze was one of the most versatile and influential composers of our time.

Henze, 86, wrote 10 symphonies. He was noted for his many operas and ballets, and for a commitment to political art.

He lived in Italy for more than 50 years.
