Airline employees agree to end strike

Employees at Kingfisher Airlines in India have agreed to call off a strike after the company offered to pay three months worth of salary. They have not been paid for seven months.

Kingfisher's licence has been suspended amid concerns over finances and safety. It still needs to submit a plan on how it intends to secure its future to obtain permission to fly again.

The BBC reports Kingfisher currently has debts of at least $US1.4 billion. Lenders have refused to extend it any fresh credit.
