Skyfall had the highest weekend box office takings in Britain for any James Bond film so far.

The 23rd Bond movie has earned £20.1 million since opening last Friday at 587 cinemas in Britain and Ireland.

The film had a Royal world premiere in London last week. Daniel Craig makes his third appearance in the role and director Sam Mendes makes his franchise debut.

Judi Dench is Bond's boss M again and Ralph Fiennes is a colleague.

Spanish Oscar-winner Javier Bardem is a flamboyant villain with dyed blond hair.

It is 50 years since the first Bond film Dr. No screened in London in 1962.
