Unemployment numbers rising in Spain

Official figures in Spain show unemployment has continued to rise.

Labour Ministry data from October show a 2.7% increase in unemployment on the previous month.

It is the third consecutive month that jobless figures in Spain have risen and 4.8 million people are now registered as out of work, the BBC reports.

The economy is in recession and the overall unemployment rate is 25%. The rate for those aged 18 - 22 is more than 50%.
