Fourteen people have been killed and 47 injured after an explosion tore through a restaurant in northern China.
Initial investigations point to a gas leak as the likely cause.
The blast happened in the city of Jinzhong in Shanxi province on Friday evening, shattering windows of buildings near the two-storey restaurant, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
The agency quoted investigators as saying that 17 injured people are in a serious condition on Saturday.
China has a poor health and safety record, blamed on a combination of poor regulations, lax enforcement and corruption, AFP reports.
