Saudi diplomat killed in Yemen

A Saudi diplomat and his bodyguard have been shot dead in Yemen.

Gunmen said to have been dressed as members of the security services opened fire on his car in the capital Sanaa, in a district where embassies and diplomatic residences are situated.

The BBC reports the diplomat was the assistant military attache at the Saudi embassy.

Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia's deputy consul in Yemen was kidnapped by al-Qaeda is still in captivity.
