An American football player has shot himself dead in front of club officials outside the team's stadium in Kansas City.
Police said NFL linebacker Jovan Belcher, 25, first shot his girlfriend dead, before driving to a training facility used by the Kansas City Chiefs, a National Football League team.
Police said they had been told that a woman had been shot.
They were then called to the Chiefs' training venue, 8km away, where they saw the player in a car holding a handgun to his head, talking to two team officials. Then a gunshot was heard.
