5.6 quake in Philippines

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Monday. There are no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at 5:45am on Monday around 73km southeast of the city of Davao at a depth of 56km.

AAP reports Mindanao is still clearing up since Typhoon Bopha came ashore on Tuesday, killing at least 548 people.
