Armed bandits in Kenya attacked a village near the north-western town of Baragoi, stealing hundreds of head of livestock.
There are said to have been about 200 attackers, many heavily armed.
Many people are reported to have fled the area.
More than 40 police officers were killed by cattle rustlers there in November.
