More horsemeat in human food in Britain

The authorities in Britain have discovered more cases of unlabelled horse meat in supermarket food.

Tests on 18 beef lasagne meals sold by the food company, Findus, showed 11 contained up to 100% horse meat.

Several supermarket chains have taken other products from the same French supplier off their shelves as a precaution.

Investigations into suppliers have been launched in recent weeks, after revelations that beef products sold at major British supermarkets including Tesco and fast-food chain Burger King contained horsemeat.
