Claim Korean ship breached international conventions

Australian Greens' leader Christine Milne claims a Korean ship has breached international conventions by refuelling a Japanese whaling ship in Australia's Antarctic territory.

Senator Milne says it's illegal for any ship carrying dense oil to enter the environmentally-sensitive area.

She is urging the Australian government to act immediately to move the ship out of Australia's territory reports the ABC.

Meanwhile, the head of Sea Shepherd Australia's anti-whaling campaign, Bob Brown, says Japanese whalers illegally harpooned a large minke whale near the Davis Research Base on Friday.
