Five more Americans die Afghan helicopter crash

7:51 pm on 12 March 2013

A helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan has killed five American members of the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

Nato says initial reports are that there was no enemy activity in the area at the time.

ISAF says a rainstorm caused the crash in the Daman district of Kandahar province.

The crash came on the same day that two American troops and five Afghan police and soldiers were killed in a so-called insider attack by a person in an Afghan military uniform in the east of the country.
