Positive tests by horses at top stable

Horse racing in Britain is facing one of its biggest doping scandals.

Eleven of the 45 horses at Godolphin stables, considered to be the top stable, have tested positive for anabolic steroids.

The stable is owned by the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed.

The BBC reports trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni could lose his licence. He claims he did not know it was an offence to use drugs when the horses were not racing.

The British Horse Racing Authority is investigating.
