Airline sued by ejected group

5:39 am on 25 April 2013

A group of eight Australian Aboriginal men is suing Qantas after being thrown off a flight and told they would not be allowed to travel in a big group.

They are accusing the airline of false imprisonment.

The men were removed from the flight and locked in a bus.

An affidavit from a Qantas flight attendant says the group was rowdy and abusive but an elder, Michael Edwards, who was leading the group, says the airline is lying.

The incident happened almost three years ago. AAP reports a hearing over the case is set to take place in a Sydney court in August.
