Afghanistan's president says he has received assurances from the US Central Intelligence Agency it will continue to provide regular funding to the country.
Last week, Hamid Karzai acknowledged his office routinely receives secret money from the CIA.
The revelation came after the New York Times reported tens of millions of dollars of so-called ghost money had been delivered, often in suitcases or shopping bags.
Mr Karzai says the money has been coming for more than a decade and he hopes it will continue reports the ABC.
"In the situation of Afghanistan where there is so much need in this country it proves extremely helpful so we are not only happy about this, but we continue to seek this assistance to keep flowing to the National Security Department."
