The United Nations and the Red Cross have issued appeals for immediate access to be granted into the Syrian city of Qusair.
Conditions there are reported to be desperate after two weeks of attacks by Syrian government forces.
Rebel parts of Qusair, which is situated between Homs and the border with Lebanon, are being blockaded by government troops and Hizbollah fighters.
