Police in Mexico have found the wreckage of a rescue helicopter, with at least three dead crew, in southern Guerrero state, Nearly 170 people are feared dead following two storms in the past week.

Guerrero had three days of wind and rain brought by tropical storm Manuel on Monday. There was further destruction on the eastern Gulf coast when hurricane Ingrid hit.

Towns are digging out from under mudslides triggered by the intense rains. Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto says it is likely that all 68 people who are still missing after a huge mudslide in the village of La Pintada are dead.

A cold front moving into the eastern states of Tamaulipas and Veracruz along the Gulf coast is expected to bring more rains across the country over the weekend.
