Two of the biggest tunnels in Melbourne are to close for maintenance work during the holidays.
Motorists are being advised by the state government to take public transport.
AAP reports the Domain tunnel closes at 10pm (AEDT) on Friday and will remain closed for three days until 5am on New Year's Eve.
The Burnley tunnel will close from 10pm on 2 January until 5am on 7 January.
Victorian Transport Minister Terry Mulder advised motorists to catch public transport to avoid congestion.
"Please look at public transport options; trams, trains and buses," he said on Friday.
