Five die in Queensland plane crash

Five people have been killed in a fiery crash of a skydiving plane on take-off at Caboolture airfield, north of Brisbane.

The safety officer at Caboolture airfield, Bryan Carpenter, witnessed the crash and says it was distressing.

The ABC reports the Cessna 206 was taking off with skydivers when it crashed and burst into flames.

The pilot, two skydiving instructors and two skydiving customers were killed, police said.

Caboolture is about 50km north of Brisbane. The airport was closed after the crash.
