Fiji's human rights record will be scrutinised by the UN Nations Human Rights Council in Switzerland in the next week.

It will be the first time Fiji has come before the council since its return to democracy this year.
Fiji's last rights review was in 2010, when the country was in the grip of emergency regulations imposed after the then-military regime abolished the constitution.
The country's Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, is expected to spell out to the UN Human Rights Council the steps Fiji has taken to implement the recommendations of the last review, which included lifting restrictions on freedom of expression, assembly and movement.
