An earthquake measuring 6.4 struck Solomon Islands early this morning.
The US Geological Survey reported the quake struck at 2:27am local time.
It was centred at about 108 kilometres west-northwest from Kirakira, the capital of Makira, at a depth of 46 kilometres.
There have been no reports of damage at this stage and no tsunami warning was issued.
Last month the Solomons suffered a 7.8 quake, followed by numerous aftershocks.
