Australia, NZ meet on closer economic ties

Australia and New Zealand ministers are meeting in Melbourne on Friday to continue discussions on closer economic ties.

Australian Trade Minister Simon Crean and his New Zealand counterpart Phil Goff are meeting as part of the annual Closer Economic Relations ministerial meeting.

CER is in its 25th year. Among items on the agenda is the creation of a single economic market between the two countries.

Commerce Minister Lianne Dalziel and Agriculture Minister Jim Anderton are with Mr Goff.

Mr Crean said the agenda would include the Doha round of the World Trade Organisation.
