Rod Stewart was 33 when he wrote his chart-topping hit Do You Think I'm Sexy in 1978.
But it seems he'd have just as much reason to ask the same question now at the ripe old age of 63 - that's if Cosmopolitan magazine's list of the 100 sexiest men in the world is anything to go by.
While Stewart does not make the top 10, he can take heart with five of the men who do, aged over 40.
Only two in the top 10 were aged under 30, which begs the question: Are young men simply not as sexy? Is 40 the new 20?
Columnist Rosemary McLeod says it's a bit of a sad reflection on young men today - their dress sense, lack of personal grooming and general manners.
Although, she notes the 100 sexiest women list published by men's magazine FHM includes mostly women aged under 30.
The lists
Cosmopolitan's top 10 sexiest men in order were: Johnny Depp (aged 45), George Clooney (47), Jake Gyllenhaal (27), Daniel Craig (40), Brad Pitt (44), James McAvoy (29), Justin Timberlake (27), Will Smith (40), David Beckham (33) and Wentworth Miller (36).
In the FHM list, actress Jessica Alba, aged 25, was voted sexiest woman, with British glamour model Keeley Hazell, 22, and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, 33, second and third respectively.
Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima, 25, came fourth, 23-year-old Scarlett Johansson was fifth, while Angelina Jolie, 33, was eighth on the list.
