Five United States citizens suspected of trying to join a terrorist group have appeared in court in Pakistan.
The men were arrested in Pakistan in early December, the ABC reports.
A Pakistani police spokesman says the court has been told there is enough evidence against the five Americans to try them under anti-terrorism laws.
A judge has given police 14 days to prepare their case.
One of the Americans has told reporters they are not terrorists, but has described the group as "jihadists", adding that "jihad is not terrorism".
A lawyer for the men says they did not plan to carry out any terrorist act inside or outside Pakistan, but were trying to travel to Afghanistan to help fellow Muslims.
