A suicide bomb attack in south-eastern Afghanistan has killed a senior security officer and eight others. At least 24 people were wounded.
Officials say the bomber detonated his explosives in a busy area in the town of Gardez.
Those reported killed included the security commander for neighbouring Logar province, his brother and three bodyguards.
Gardez is near the border with Pakistan. The target appears to have been the commander of a private Afghan security company working for American forces.
