President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan says the Taliban has it around the wrong way when it demands that international troops leave Afghanistan before it will take part in peace talks.
Mr Karzai is making overtures to the Taliban, urging its fighters to lay down their weapons and accept Afghan laws.
The Taliban has always set the withdrawal of international troops as a pre-condition for any negotiations.
But Mr Karzai calls that "unrealistic". He wants foreign Taliban fighters to go home instead.
