A 6.0 magnitude earthquake centered off the western Pacific coast shook northern California on Thursday, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake struck 11.2 km deep, 56 km west-northwest of Petrolia, California.
No tsunami warning was issued and there was no immediate report of damage.
