An aftershock measuring 6.7 has hit off the coast of quake-ravaged Chile.
The latest earthquake was centred 87 kilometres northwest of Concepcion.
There have been no reports of casualties and no tsunami warning was issued.
An 8.8 magnitude quake in Chile two and a half weeks ago killed about 500 people, and sparked a tsunami alert for New Zealand.
