Deal signed for release of new Michael Jackson albums

The estate of pop-singer Michael Jackson has signed the biggest recording deal in history.

Sony Music has struck a reported $US250 million deal with the late singer's estate to produce 10 albums of previously unreleased music and compilations of his back catalogue.

The first batch of new music is due out in November.

Since his death last June on the eve of a comeback tour, more than 30 million Micahel Jackson albums have been sold.

The singer left behind reported debts of $500 million.
