Port stalemate continues

1:13 pm on 8 April 2010

For the past six months, a boat load of asylum seekers from Sri Lanka has refused to leave the Indonesian port of Marak until they are given a new country to live in.

The head of Indonesia's diplomatic security says all 181 asylum seekers on board the boat have agreed to leave.

He says they have accepted an offer of temporary accomodation ashore.

However the ABC reports there is still some debate over where they would be moved to.
