An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 has hit the east coast of Papua New Guinea.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake hit about 23:15 GMT and was centered about 29km east of the city of Lae.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has not issued a tsunami alert.
