A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 has struck in the Moluccas about 200 km north of the Indonesian island of Ambon.
The quake hit at 2.41pm on Saturday (7.41pm NZ Time).
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was measured at a depth of 53 km.
