Rubbish dump searched in NZ homicide inquiry

The police in Sydney have been sorting through 300 tonnes of rubbish from the city's landfills as they hunt for evidence linked to the killing of New Zealand-born nurse, Michelle Beets.
The 57-year-old was found stabbed to death on the doorstep of home in Chatswood in the north of Sydney on 27 April.
Homicide detectives began scouring three waste facilities acting on information received on Tuesday night that suggested some items were disposed of the day after the killing.
After more than eight hours searching, a team of 50 police had found nothing, homicide squad acting Superintendent Mick Sheehy said on Wednesday.
The body of Ms Beets, a nurse manager at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital, was found a short time after a hooded man carrying a backpack was seen fleeing the scene.
