Quakes hit Algeria, Iran

Two people were killed and more than 40 injured in a earthquake that struck in Algeria on Friday.

The 5.2-magnitude quake struck a region about 200 kilometres south of the capital, Algiers.

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit southern Iran late on Friday, shaking an area near southern provinces of Fars and Bushehr, but there were no reports of casualties.
