Wreckage of Pamir Airways plane found

9:04 pm on 21 May 2010

The wreckage of an Afghan passenger plane that crashed earlier this week with 43 people on board has been found on a mountainside north of Kabul, along with a number of bodies.

A government minister says it is too soon to say that no one has survived, but says conditions in the area are extremely cold.

He was speaking by telephone from the crash site in the Shakar Darah mountains, 20 kilometres from Kabul.

The Pamir Airways plane had been carrying three Britons, an American and dozens of Afghans when it crashed on Monday.
