Security officials in Thailand have recommended that a curfew in Bangkok and 23 other provinces be extended for another week.
An army spokesman says there are still some movements to incite unrest and an extension of the curfew would help authorities.
All but one of the eight top leaders of the 'red shirt' protest movement are now in custody after they were driven out of the capital by the army last Wednesday.
