The government of Myanmar, also known as Burma, has denied recent reports that it is developing a nuclear weapons programme.
A statement from the foreign ministry said foreign media reports of such a programme were "politically motivated".
The Democratic Voice of Burma, which is based in Norway, had run a documentary based on information from a defector about a nuclear plan.
The Myanmar government calls the reports baseless accusations by army deserters, fugitives and dissidents.
