Flash floods in France

Flash floods in south east France have killed at least 19 people and left more than 1000 homeless.

A number of towns in the department of Var were affected.

The national weather service, said up to 40cm of rain had fallen since Tuesday.

Residents in the town of Draguignan sheltered on roofs to escape the floodwaters.

Passengers on a high-speed train were trapped when floods submerged track along the Mediterranean coast.
