Police in Victoria have charged a second teenager over the death of Indian man in Melbourne in January this year.

Nitin Garg, 21, an accountancy graduate, was stabbed to death as he walked to work in January.

A boy, aged 16, has been charged with being an accessory to his murder.

The ABC reports he has been bailed to appear in a Children's Court at a later date.

Police on Thursday charged another boy, aged 15, with Mr Garg's murder.

The killing inflamed a controversy over attacks on Indian nationals in Victoria.

Hundreds of mourners attended Mr Garg's funeral at his family home in the northern state of Punjab.
