Brazil out of World Cup

Brazil are out of the World Cup after being eliminated by the Netherlands.

Brazil led 1-0 at half-time thorugh a Robinho goal, but the Dutch fought back to win 2-1. After the half-time break they equalised through an own goal before Wesley Sneijder put the Dutch through on 68 minutes.

Brazil was reduced to 10 men by the end of the match after Felipe Melo, who scored the own goal, was dismissed.

The Netherlands will next play Uruguay, the winners of the day's second match against Ghana, in the semi-finals in Cape Town on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Germany play Argentina and Spain face Paraguay in the remaining quarter-final ties.
