Diego Maradona has hinted he might resign following Argentina's early elimination from the World Cup in South Africa.
After the team's arrival in Buenos Aires on Sunday evening, Maradona was reported to have said his cycle has finished.
Football officials say the decision will be left entirely to Maradona, who was the captain of Argentina's World Cup-winning side in 1986.
Argentina was knocked out of this year's World Cup by Germany, which won 4-0 in the quarter-finals.
About 10,000 fans still turned up at Buenos Aires airport to meet the team.
