Two oil pipelines that exploded in the Chinese port city of Dalian started a fire which burned for 15 hours.

About 2,000 firefighters put out the blaze, which began after a ship carrying 300,000 tonnes of oil unloaded its cargo, the BBC reports.

Officials were considering evacuating some 600 homes nearby, state media report.
