Killer of British toddler jailed for child porn

One of the killers of the British toddler, James Bulger, has been jailed for two years for downloading and distributing child porn.

John Venables was 10 when he and friend Robert Thompson murdered James Bulger, in 1993.

The 27-year-old appeared by video link at the Old Bailey in London and he spoke only to confirm his name and to plead guilty to three charges of accessing and sharing online child porn.

The court heard that since the killer's release in 2001 he'd been arrested at least two other times.

The BBC reports that outside court, James Bulger's mother Denise Fergus, said "justice had not been done" and she was "surprised and concerned" that Venables had not been recalled to prison when he committed an offence in 2008.

In a statement released by his solicitor, John Venables said he had thought about James Bulger's death every day since 1993.
