Tiger says he shouldn't be in Ryder Cup team on current form

World number one golfer Tiger Woods says his current form doesn't warrant his selection in the US Ryder Cup team.

Woods finished tied for second last at the Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio, carding 18 over par for the event, in his worst ever career performance.

His five-year reign as world number one would have come to an end if Phil Mickelson was placed fourth or better, the BBC reports.

But Mickelson shot a final round 78 to fall well short of that target.

Woods says that, playing as he is, he wouldn't help the US team for October's Ryder Cup and he needs to hit the ball better, chip better, put better and score better.
