Canadians set new record for South Pole trek

Three Canadian men have set a new record for the fastest trek across Antarctica to the South Pole.

The adventurers say they completed more than 1100km, pulling heavy sledges in just under 34 days.

They experienced temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees celsius, but survived on a diet of deep-fried bacon, cheese and butter.

The leader of the expedition says he is excited to have finished, but is desperate for a pizza.
